Job Summary

As a Control and Instrumentation Engineer you will be leading the Control and Instrumentation aspect on several turnkey projects throughout the African Continent. You will be required to give control specific insight at the conceptual stage of projects to allow for accurate budgeting and project planning, and to assess existing processing plants and software to successfully offer clients solutions to their automation needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical consulting services to our customers.
• Produce and integrate engineering solutions and designs for asset creation on behalf of customers at various stages of the project life cycle.
• Assess existing processing plants and software to offer clients automation solutions.

Qualifications and Experience

• B.Sc. or BEng in Electrical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PrEng) registered with ECSA or any recognized professional body.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in control and instrumentation.
• Extensive experience in the design and construction of bulk steel water pipelines, pump stations, reservoirs, abstraction works, and water treatment plants.
• Minimum 5 years after professional registration or other recognized professional bodies.
• Proven track record in management and leadership within a consulting firm.

Knowledge

• Operations of pumping equipment, dosing pumps, and large pumping units.
• Water purification and treatment processes.
• Standard abbreviations and international symbols.
• Control and Instrumentation National and International Standards and design compliance standards.
• Design of pumping systems and project management.
• ISA (Society of Automation) standards and their proper use.

Quality Management

Ensure ISO compliance, manage a team of junior and senior employees, and have legal knowledge of Employee Equity Act, Labour and Employment laws, OHS Act, and Design compliance standards.
