About the Role

Our client, a dynamic and forward-thinking architectural firm based in Polokwane, Limpopo , is seeking a highly skilled Senior Commercial Architect to join their expanding team. This role is critical in leading the design and execution of a diverse range of commercial projects, including office buildings, retail spaces, and mixed-use developments. You will be responsible for managing projects from initial concept and client liaison through to construction administration, ensuring the delivery of innovative, functional, and economically viable architectural solutions. We are looking for a motivated professional with a strong portfolio in commercial architecture, excellent leadership qualities, and a deep understanding of commercial market demands and construction practices within the Limpopo region.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architectural design process for commercial projects, ensuring alignment with client objectives and market trends.
• Develop detailed architectural plans, specifications, and construction documentation for commercial buildings.
• Manage client relationships, providing expert advice and ensuring clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate with engineering consultants (structural, mechanical, electrical), quantity surveyors, and contractors.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, zoning regulations, and safety standards in Polokwane.
• Oversee the project from inception to completion, including site supervision and quality control.
• Mentor and guide junior architects and designers within the commercial practice.
• Stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in commercial architecture and construction.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture.
• A minimum of 9 years of professional experience in architectural practice, with a substantial focus on commercial projects.
• Proven experience in leading commercial architectural design projects of significant scale.
• Proficiency in industry-standard architectural software, including Revit, AutoCAD, and visualization tools.
• Strong understanding of commercial building systems, materials, and construction methodologies.
• Excellent leadership, project management, and client communication skills.
• Knowledge of local planning regulations and building standards in Limpopo province is highly desirable.
• SACAP registration is required.
