Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Chemical Process Engineer to join their Richards Bay operations. You will monitor and optimize chemical processing to improve efficiency, safety, and environmental performance, working closely with plant personnel.

The role requires hands-on troubleshooting, SOP development, and participation in HAZOP studies; a strong background in process control, instrumentation, and data analysis is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in process engineering in heavy industrial or chemical manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of process control, instrumentation, and P&IDs.
• Experience with process simulation and data analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day chemical process operations, ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards.
• Analyze process data to identify trends, optimize performance, and reduce operational costs.
• Implement process improvements and modifications, ensuring they meet safety and environmental regulations.
• Provide technical support to the operations and maintenance teams, troubleshooting equipment and process issues.
• Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and process documentation.
• Participate in HAZOP studies and other process safety reviews.
