Placements24 is seeking an Automotive Mechanical Engineer (Chassis Design) for our client in Pretoria, Gauteng. You will contribute to the full design lifecycle, from concept to validation, focusing on advanced chassis systems for superior dynamics and safety.

The role requires 4–6 years of automotive chassis design experience, strong CAD/FEA proficiency, and collaboration with NVH, vehicle dynamics, and manufacturing teams. Hybrid work setup offered in Pretoria.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
4–6 years of automotive chassis design and development experience.
Strong CAD skills in CATIA V5/V6, SolidWorks, NX.
Experience with FEA tools such as ANSYS/Abaqus.

Responsibilities

Design and develop automotive chassis components and systems (suspension, steering, braking).
Create detailed 3D CAD models and 2D drawings.
Perform structural and fatigue analysis via FEA software.
Collaborate with NVH, vehicle dynamics, and manufacturing teams.
Define performance requirements and validation plans for chassis systems.
Support prototypes and testing, analyze results and implement improvements.
Ensure designs meet safety standards and cost targets.
