Placements24 is seeking a Senior CAD Engineer to join a fully remote team, leading the development and implementation of CAD strategies across mechanical design projects. You will mentor engineers, shape standards, and ensure high-quality design outputs in a flexible, remote-first environment.

Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will use SolidWorks, CATIA, and Inventor, along with PDM/PLM workflows, to drive efficient modeling, documentation, and data integrity across programs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of professional CAD engineering experience.
• Expert proficiency in 3D CAD software and GD&T.
• Experience with CAD standards, workflows, and data management.
• Strong remote-work communication and mentoring skills.
• Experience with PDM/PLM systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead CAD standards, libraries, and best practices across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and support to design engineers on CAD-related issues, including modeling techniques, drawing standards, and PDM/PLM system usage.
• Develop and manage configuration management processes for CAD data, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
• Explore and implement new CAD technologies and workflows to enhance design efficiency and collaboration in a remote setting .
• Conduct training sessions for engineers on effective utilization of CAD tools and processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 6 years of professional experience as a CAD Engineer or in a similar role.
• Expert proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, Inventor) and PDM/PLM systems.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, manufacturing processes, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Experience in developing and enforcing CAD standards and workflows.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and mentoring skills for effective remote work .
