Job summary

Smart Talent in South Africa seeks a Buyer to join the Shared Service Centre. The role focuses on managing procurement processes, supplier relationships, compliance with ISO 9001, and supporting transformation objectives through effective sourcing and stakeholder engagement.

The position requires at least 5 years in procurement, strong SAP knowledge, and the ability to drive regional commodity strategies aligned with national standards. Community engagement is part of the role.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to source and procure goods and services.
• Experience with supplier relationship management and contract oversight.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Manage acquisition and expediting of goods and services for the region.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards and procedures.
• Develop regional commodity strategies aligned with national standards.
• Execute procurement policies and implementation plans.
• Support transformation objectives through supplier development and preferential procurement.
• Conduct CEPs and share insights with Procurement Managers in other regions.
• Oversee supplier relationship management, including contract management and vendor performance.
• Participate in supplier selection, evaluation, and development of alternative sources.
• Identify and qualify potential suppliers for vendor onboarding.
• Engage in community stakeholder forums to address local procurement needs.
