Job summary

A leading fashion retailer in Cape Town is looking for a Footwear Senior Buyer to source and procure footwear while formulating strategies to maximize sales. Candidates should have at least 5 years of buying experience, preferably in footwear, alongside strong negotiation and interpersonal skills. The role requires an interest in fashion trends and a solid track record in buying.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a Buyer, preferably with Footwear knowledge.

An opportunity has become available in our buying team for a Footwear Senior Buyer

Responsibilities
  • Successfully source and procure a range of Footwear,
  • Procure and range build appropriate ranges aligned to the strategy with special attention to all trading opportunities.
  • Work closely with the planner, through analysis of previous sales patterns, market trends and brand initiatives.
  • Formulate departmental strategies to maximize sales and then timeously source and secure stock to implement strategies.
  • Negotiate effectively.
  • Build and maintain good relationships with staff, suppliers (both nationally & internationally) and key functions in the business.
  • Think in terms of the "big picture" as well as consider specifics and detail.
  • Assess complex situations and implement workable solutions.
Requirements
  • Have experience as a Buyer (5+ years essential)
  • Specific Footwear knowledge and experience is preferable
  • Have a high degree of organisation and prioritization skills
  • A working knowledge of the current computer software packages (knowledge of Excel, Word & E-mail would be preferable).
