Fast-paced and challenging position available in a dynamic, high-performing team. We're looking for a rock star procurement expert to join our team of movers and shakers in the marine manufacturing industry. Are you a skilled procurement professional with a passion for precision, quality, and getting things done?

Responsibilities
  • Source and procure all raw materials, components, and supplies for new projects and production.
  • Identify and evaluate suppliers, fostering reliable long-term partnerships.
  • Negotiate competitive pricing, favourable delivery terms, and supplier contracts.
  • Ensure all procured materials meet company quality standards and technical specifications.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to align with production schedules.
  • Collaborate with design, engineering, and production teams to forecast material needs and mitigate supply chain risks.
  • Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and prepare reports for management decision-making.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Buyer or Procurement Professional, preferably in manufacturing or the marine sector.
  • Strong negotiation, supplier evaluation, and supplier management skills.
  • Experience in creating and maintaining BOMs.
  • Excellent understanding of inventory management and production scheduling.
  • Knowledge of both South African and international supply chains.
  • Strong analytical ability and proficiency in MS Office (Excel essential).
  • Experience with procurement / ERP systems such as Sage is advantageous.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Qualification in Supply Chain, Procurement, Logistics, or related field is advantageous.
