Job summary

Reverside is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to drive digital transformation and core banking initiatives within the retail banking sector in Johannesburg. You will gather and translate complex business requirements into functional solutions, manage Agile backlogs, and document end-to-end processes to ensure alignment with regulatory needs and customer expectations.

Qualifications

• 6-8 years of experience as a Functional Business Analyst.
• At least 4 years' experience within retail banking or financial services.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Management, Commerce or an equivalent quantitative field.
• Advanced Business Analysis Diploma (FTI or equivalent) advantageous.
• CBAP, PMI-PBA or SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM) certification advantageous.
• Strong understanding of unsecured lending, transactional banking accounts, card issuing/acquiring or digital KYC and customer onboarding.
• Experience working in Agile or Scaled Agile environments.
• Strong requirements elicitation, process modelling and stakeholder management experience.

• Lead requirements-gathering workshops with business units, executives and technical stakeholders.
• Analyse and document end-to-end customer journeys, business requirements and operational dependencies.
• Translate business requirements into Epics, Features and detailed User Stories with clear acceptance criteria.
• Manage and refine functional backlogs using Agile and Scaled Agile methodologies.
• Document current-state (As-Is) and future-state (To-Be) business processes using BPMN 2.0.
• Identify process inefficiencies, operational bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate with Solution Architects and technical teams on APIs, system configurations and integration requirements.
• Advise Product Owners and business stakeholders on solution options, MVP scope, operational impacts and functional risks.
• Work with Quality Assurance teams to validate functional requirements and test coverage.
