About the Role

Our client, a prominent live event production company, is seeking an experienced Senior Broadcast Operations Manager to oversee the technical execution of live broadcasts and streaming events. Based in Mahikeng, North West , this role is crucial for ensuring the seamless delivery of high-quality audio and video content to audiences. You will be responsible for managing broadcast equipment, coordinating technical crews, planning event logistics, and troubleshooting issues in real-time during live productions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in broadcast engineering, project management, and a deep understanding of live streaming technologies. This hybrid position allows for strategic on-site management of events and flexible remote planning and coordination. You will play a vital role in delivering memorable and technically flawless live experiences for a variety of high-profile events.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee all aspects of live broadcast operations for events, including setup, execution, and strike.
• Coordinate and lead technical crews, including camera operators, audio engineers, and EVS operators.

• Ensure all broadcast equipment is functioning optimally, troubleshooting issues as they arise.

• Stay current with emerging broadcast technologies and industry best practices.

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in broadcast operations or live event production, with at least 3 years in a management or supervisory role.
• Proven experience managing live broadcast productions for events, concerts, or sports.
• In-depth knowledge of broadcast video and audio equipment, including cameras, switchers, audio mixers, and transmission systems.
• Strong understanding of live streaming technologies, encoding, and content delivery networks (CDNs).
• Experience with project management and operational planning.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, live environment.
• Familiarity with IP-based broadcast workflows is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Engineering, Media Production, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
