Job summary

A growing accounting firm is seeking a Senior Full-Time Bookkeeper in Paarl, Western Cape. This role involves managing advanced bookkeeping functions, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supervising a bookkeeping team. Ideal candidates will have a Certificate or Diploma in accounting/bookkeeping and at least 3-4 years of bookkeeping experience. Proficiency in Xero and strong math skills are crucial for success. The firm supports office-based, remote, or hybrid work options.

Qualifications

  • Matric with good grades in mathematics/accounting.
  • At least 3-4 years in bookkeeping within an accounting practice.

Responsibilities

  • Record daily financial transactions and post them in accounting software.
  • Ensure the accuracy of the trial balance.
  • File electronic or hardcopy documents.
  • Review and issue management reports for clients.
  • Manage VAT reconciliation and submission.
  • Handle client interactions regarding bookkeeping.
  • Supervise bookkeeping team administrative tasks.
  • Review, approve, and create audit/financial statement packs.
  • Perform other ad-hoc duties as required.
