Job summary

A recruitment agency is looking for a Senior Bookkeeper to manage full bookkeeping functions up to trial balance in a manufacturing environment. The role requires at least 5 years of experience, strong skills in Pastel Evolution, and knowledge of South African tax regulations. Ideal candidates will have excellent Excel skills and attention to detail.

Job description

Key Responsibilities :

• Full bookkeeping function up to TRIAL BALANCE
• Manage & Reconcile General Ledger Accounts
• Process supplier & customer invoices, credit notes, and payments
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations
• Prepare VAT, PAYE, and other statutory returns
• Assist with monthly management accounts and financial reporting
• Monitor & analyze manufacturing costs, variances, & margins
• Work closely with production & procurement teams to ensure accurate BOM costing
• Utilize Evolution BOM or Xperdyte to manage & report on production & inventory data
• Assist with year-end audits & liaise with external auditors
• Implement & maintain internal controls & financial procedures

Requirements :

• Min - 5 years experience as a Senior Bookkeeper in a manufacturing environment
• Experience working on Pastel Evolution, including BOM module or Xperdyte Manufacturing Suite
• Strong understanding of cost accounting & inventory management
• Strong Excel skills (V-LOOKUPS & PIVOT TABLES)
• High attention to detail & accuracy
• Ability to work independently & meet deadlines
• Strong communication & interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of South African TAX regulations & compliance
