Job Description

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will manage approximately 15 monthly clients, ensuring all bookkeeping, VAT, payroll, and compliance tasks are completed accurately and on time. This is a remote role, ideal for someone who is organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently while meeting deadlines.

  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Perform monthly bookkeeping for multiple clients using Sage, Xero, or QuickBooks.
    • Prepare and submit VAT calculations and returns (VAT201).
    • Handle monthly payroll processing and EMP201 submissions.
    • Assist with EMP501 reconciliations and IRP5 submissions.
    • Liaise with SARS for appointments, queries, and submissions.
    • Conduct CIPC-related tasks (annual returns, updates, etc.).
    • Prepare and assist with Tax Compliance Certificates (TCCs).
    • Provide general administrative and accounting support as required.
Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year of bookkeeping experience, preferably within an accounting firm.
  • Strong knowledge of VAT, payroll, and SARS compliance.
  • Proficient in Sage Accounting, Sage Payroll, Xero, or QuickBooks.
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Preferred
  • Accounting diploma or certificate.
  • Experience with Sage will be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with CIPC and SARS eFiling platforms.
Working Hours

Flexible working hours. Core business hours: Monday to Thursday, 09:00–15:00, and Friday, 09:00–15:00.
