Placements24 is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our technology team in Kimberley. You will design, develop, and maintain scalable server-side applications and APIs powering core products in a collaborative environment.

You will optimize performance, work with SQL/NoSQL databases, and mentor junior engineers while contributing to architectural decisions in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional backend software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in at least one modern backend language (Python, Java, Go, Node.js).
• Solid understanding of relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and containerization (Docker) is a plus.

Responsibilities
