Job summary

NTT DATA seeks a highly experienced Principal AWS Cloud Architect to partner with sales, consulting, and delivery teams across South Africa and the Middle East & Africa. You will design, govern, and optimize enterprise‑scale AWS solutions, guiding migration, modernization, and cloud transformation programs.

The role requires 10+ years in IT infrastructure or cloud architecture with 5+ years on AWS, and strong pre‑sales and leadership skills. Hybrid workplace in Johannesburg region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related discipline.
• 10+ years in IT infrastructure/cloud architecture or platform engineering with 5+ years on AWS.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, and governance of enterprise AWS solutions.
• Partner with sales and stakeholders to develop cloud strategies and transformation roadmaps.
• Design secure, highly available, scalable AWS platforms using Well‑Architected Framework.
• Define target architectures for networking, security, identity, observability, automation, DR.
• Develop IaC using Terraform, CloudFormation, and/or CDK.
• Provide architectural leadership for migration, modernization, containerization, and serverless initiatives.
• Collaborate with engineering/DevOps/security to implement CI/CD and platform automation.
• Drive cloud security, governance, FinOps, and compliance best practices.
• Perform architecture reviews and provide oversight throughout delivery.
• Act as trusted advisor to clients and executives.
