About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and proactive Senior Aviation Compliance Officer to join their team. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to manage regulatory adherence and compliance strategies from anywhere. You will be responsible for ensuring that all aviation operations meet and exceed national and international regulatory standards. This includes developing and implementing compliance programs, conducting audits, and advising management on regulatory requirements and potential risks. This role is vital for maintaining the company's operational integrity and reputation, requiring a seasoned professional who can navigate complex regulatory landscapes independently and effectively, supporting a distributed operational framework.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor compliance programs to ensure adherence to all relevant aviation regulations (e.g., SACAA, EASA, FAA).
• Conduct regular internal audits and assessments of operational procedures and documentation.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities, managing inspections and responding to inquiries.
• Investigate compliance breaches, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
• Provide expert guidance and training to staff on regulatory requirements and best practices.
• Stay current with changes in aviation legislation and advise the organization accordingly.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in aviation regulatory compliance, safety management, or a related field.
• In-depth knowledge of South African Civil Aviation Regulations (CARs) and international aviation standards.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing compliance frameworks and audit programs.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, essential for a remote role interacting with various stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet strict deadlines.
