Placements24 is seeking a Senior Automotive Quality Control Inspector to lead QA at our client’s Rustenburg facility. You will ensure vehicles and components meet strict quality standards, supervise a team of inspectors, and drive continuous improvement with production and engineering teams.

The ideal candidate holds a National Diploma or Bachelor’s in Engineering or Quality Management, with 5+ years in automotive QC, strong SPC and root-cause analysis skills, and familiarity with IATF 16949.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field.
• At least 5 years of experience in quality control within the automotive manufacturing industry.
• Experience leading and supervising a team.
• In-depth knowledge of quality control methodologies, SPC, and root cause analysis techniques.
• Proficiency in using various inspection tools and measurement equipment.
• Familiarity with IATF 16949 quality standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to influence stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain robust quality control procedures and standards for automotive manufacturing.
• Conduct thorough inspections of incoming materials, in-process production, and finished vehicles to identify defects and non-compliance with specifications.
• Utilize various measuring instruments and testing equipment to verify product quality and adherence to tolerances.
• Analyze quality data, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence of defects.
• Lead and mentor a team of quality control inspectors, providing training and performance feedback.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to address quality concerns and implement improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949) and regulatory requirements.
• Document inspection results, prepare quality reports, and communicate findings to management.
• Champion a quality-first mindset throughout the manufacturing facility.
• Conduct root cause analysis for quality failures and implement effective preventative measures.
