Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Advanced Automotive Electrician based in Centurion, Gauteng. You will diagnose, repair, and upgrade complex electrical systems across a range of vehicles, interpreting wiring diagrams and using advanced diagnostic tools to pinpoint faults.

The role requires deep knowledge of CAN/LIN networks, ECU/BCM systems, and automotive electronics. Collaboration with other technicians and adherence to standards are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as Automotive/Auto Electrician.
• Formal qualification in Auto Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Strong ability to diagnose and repair complex vehicle electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and replace complex automotive electrical components and systems.
• Interpret wiring diagrams and schematics to trace faults.
• Use advanced diagnostic tools, oscilloscopes, multimeters and other equipment.
• Install and upgrade electrical systems including lighting, audio and security.
• Troubleshoot ECUs, BCMs and other vehicle ECUs.
• Service fuel injection, ignition, and battery management systems.
• Maintain records of diagnostics and repairs performed.
• Stay current with CAN/LIN bus tech and vehicle electrical trends.
• Provide technical guidance to other technicians on electrical matters.
