About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Auditor to join their internal audit department in Kimberley . This role is integral to assessing the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management processes, and corporate governance within the organization. You will conduct comprehensive audits, identify areas of non-compliance or inefficiency, and recommend improvements to strengthen the bank's operations. This position requires a thorough understanding of auditing standards and practices within the banking and finance sector , and involves on-site work to engage directly with auditees and gather evidence.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute financial, operational, and compliance audits across various departments of the bank.
- Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls and risk management systems.
- Identify audit findings, assess their impact, and develop practical recommendations for corrective actions.
- Prepare detailed audit reports summarizing findings, conclusions, and recommendations for management.
- Conduct follow-up reviews to ensure that agreed-upon corrective actions have been implemented effectively.
- Stay updated on auditing standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices relevant to the banking industry .
- Collaborate with external auditors as needed to ensure alignment and efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional qualification such as CIA, CA(SA), or CISA is required.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in internal or external audit, preferably within the banking or financial services industry .
- Strong knowledge of auditing principles, methodologies, and relevant regulations.
- Proficiency in data analysis techniques and auditing software.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally at all levels.
