Job Overview
Senior Asset Manager reporting to the Chief Investment Officer at Old Mutual Property (OMREHC) (Pty) Ltd. The role focuses on strategic asset management, investment analysis and portfolio performance reporting within a diversified property fund covering retail, industrial and office assets across South Africa and offshore markets.
Responsibilities
- Compile reports, analysis and specific tasks for the Board, Property and Investment Committee, and other executive committees.
- Develop investment and economic strategies aligned with the company's philosophy and customer objectives.
- Conduct investment research, deal structuring and financial modelling for potential acquisitions.
- Analyse market trends, identify opportunities and collaborate with external consultants to enhance product offerings.
- Provide economic and property overviews, assess investment attractiveness of specific property sectors and recommend investment decisions to the Investment Committee.
- Develop and maintain a data-driven property information system, including standardized research decks and market commentaries.
- Monitor and update property fundamentals, budgets, forecasting and modelling to support portfolio performance.
- Assist with the preparation of property trend commentaries and macroeconomic, capital market and property market information.
- Review and analyse annual property valuations, complete internal valuations and produce regular reports to various committees and boards.
Qualifications
- B / MBA / CA (NQF Level 7).
- Minimum 6 years of relevant industry experience.
- Experience with deal structuring and financial modelling is mandatory.
- CFA (any level – advantageous).
- Strong analytical skills, numerical ability and advanced Excel and PowerPoint proficiency.
- Property experience is advantageous.
