Job summary

A leading multinational consultancy in Johannesburg is seeking a Senior Art Director to collaborate with teams and shape advertising strategies. Key responsibilities include producing sketches, ensuring high-quality creative work, and mentoring junior staff. The ideal candidate has at least 4 years’ experience in an advertising agency and is proficient in MS Office and Adobe Creative Suite. This role requires strong multitasking and presentation skills within a dynamic work environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years' experience as a Senior Art Director in an advertising agency.
  • Digital & TTL experience is essential.
  • Experience with brand design and brand identity.
  • Experience working on WorkBook is advantageous.
  • Portfolio showcasing both TTL and Digital work.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with a senior copywriter to conceptualise advertising strategies according to the client brief.

Research and understand clients' marketing initiatives, strategic positioning, and target audience.

Attend and participate in stand-up and brainstorming sessions.

Produce sketches and storyboards to visualise ideas.

Art direction for all forms of communication including TVC concepts, print, digital, social media, and other channels.

Ensure the quality of creative work is high before presenting to Creative Directors, Group Heads, and other stakeholders.

Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure deadlines are met.

Assist with mentoring and training junior creatives.

Keep abreast of advertising trends and industry best practices.

Qualifications / Experience / Skill

Tertiary qualification in Art Direction.

Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Keynote, etc.).

Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite.

Minimum 4 years' experience as a Senior Art Director in an advertising agency.

Experience with brand design and brand identity.

Experience working on WorkBook will be advantageous.
