Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a registered Architect to lead the architectural vision for large-scale urban regeneration projects in Tembisa, Gauteng. You will drive master planning, conceptual design, and detailed documentation from inception to construction oversight, coordinating with engineers, planners, and consultants.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's in Architecture or Urban Planning, 8+ years of experience in major urban developments, and a strong portfolio.

Qualifications

• Registration with SACAP is mandatory.
• Master's degree in Architecture or Urban Planning with a strong urban development portfolio.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in large-scale urban projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit and GIS software; strong knowledge of zoning and planning regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural design and planning for major urban development projects.
• Develop master plans, conceptual designs, and detailed architectural documentation.
• Coordinate with urban planners, engineers, landscape architects and other consultants.
• Ensure designs comply with urban planning policies, sustainability goals and community needs.
• Manage project timelines, budgets and quality control across development stages.
• Engage with local authorities, communities and clients for buy-in and compliance.
• Oversee tender processes and construction administration to protect design integrity.
• Conduct feasibility studies and site analyses for potential developments.
• Stay updated on innovative urban design strategies and green building practices.
• Mentor junior staff involved in urban development projects.
