About the Role

Our client, a significant player in the aviation sector, is seeking a highly analytical and experienced Senior Aircraft Performance Engineer to join their team in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal . The Senior Aircraft Performance Engineer will be responsible for conducting in-depth performance analysis, developing operational procedures, and providing technical expertise to flight operations and engineering departments. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in aerodynamics, thermodynamics, and flight mechanics, coupled with advanced analytical skills and a deep understanding of aircraft performance metrics. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive analysis of aircraft performance data to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.
• Develop and refine aircraft performance models and databases, including takeoff, climb, cruise, and landing performance.
• Provide technical guidance and support to flight crews and operational planning teams on aircraft performance matters.
• Analyze the impact of environmental factors (e.g., temperature, altitude, wind) on aircraft performance.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize fuel efficiency and reduce operational costs.
• Conduct weight and balance calculations and analysis for various flight scenarios.
• Evaluate new aircraft technologies and operational procedures for their impact on performance.
• Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations on aircraft performance findings and recommendations.
• Ensure all performance-related activities comply with relevant aviation regulations and standards.
• Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to address any performance-related issues.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on performance.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in aircraft performance engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Strong understanding of aerodynamics, flight mechanics, and thermodynamics.
• Proficiency in aircraft performance software and data analysis tools.
