Air Freight Specialist

Our client, a worldwide logistics company, is looking for an Air Freight Specialist.

The Airfreight Manager is responsible for the overall management of airfreight operations.

This includes developing and implementing strategies to grow the business, improve efficiency and profitability, and managing a team of airfreight professionals.

The Airfreight Manager will work with customers to ensure their needs are met.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Result Areas:

• Develop the airfreight product.
• Develop and implement strategies to grow the airfreight business.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency and profitability of airfreight operations.
• Manage a team of airfreight professionals, including agents, supervisors, and clerks.
• Work with customers to understand their needs and ensure that they are met.
• Negotiate rates and contracts with air carriers.
• Monitor and manage airfreight shipments to ensure that they are delivered on time and in good condition.
• Fly with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Prepare budgets, sales plans, and execute management sales strategies.
• Stay up to date on industry trends and developments.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Education: Matric.

Experience: Minimum 6 years working experience in Air Freight. Minimum 5 years experience working in a management position. Operational knowledge of air freight business is essential. Experience in managing customers. Experience on Cargo wise would be beneficial. Essential to have contacts with the major Airlines. Own customer base and wide reach in the air freight market.
