Job summary

Vodacom in Cape Town is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to accelerate AI-enabled software development within Identity and Access Management. You will design, prototype, and build IAM modules, modernise existing apps, and ensure scalable, secure delivery in agile teams.

The role requires 5–8+ years in software engineering, experience with Java/Kotlin, SpringBoot, Python, React, cloud-native environments, containers, CI/CD, and AI governance.

Qualifications

• 5–8+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience in Agile delivery environments (Scrum/Kanban).
• Experience with modern programming languages and frameworks (Java, Kotlin, SpringBoot, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, React).
• Exposure to cloud-native environments and containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes).

Responsibilities

• Lead AI-enabled integration across the IAM SDLC.
• Drive adoption of AI-enabled engineering tools and practices.
• Provide technical leadership and architecture guidance for secure, scalable AI use in software engineering.
• Establish AI governance, security, and compliance standards.
• Define and measure engineering performance using relevant metrics.
• Coach IAM Enablement to embed AI capabilities into development processes.
