Placements24 is seeking a Senior Aerospace Systems Engineer to join its Rustenburg team in the North West, ZA. You will lead design, development, integration and testing of advanced aerospace systems, ensuring performance, safety and reliability across aircraft and space technologies.

The ideal candidate has a solid track record in systems engineering, V&V, and tool proficiency (MATLAB/Simulink, ANSYS, CATIA), with 8+ years experience and a Master’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Master's degree preferred for advanced responsibilities.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in aerospace systems engineering.
• Experience with systems engineering methods, including V&V and integration.
• Proficiency with simulation and modeling tools (MATLAB/Simulink, ANSYS, CATIA).

Responsibilities

• Oversee architectural design and development of aerospace systems from concept to deployment.
• Lead cross-functional teams in integration and testing phases of aerospace technologies.
• Conduct system analyses for performance, safety and reliability, identifying risks.
• Develop and maintain system requirements, specifications, and documentation.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, operations, and quality assurance for seamless production.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across the system lifecycle.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and best practices in aerospace engineering.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Contribute to proposal writing and project planning for future aerospace initiatives.

Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in aerospace systems engineering.
• Demonstrated expertise in systems engineering methodologies, including requirements management, V&V (Verification and Validation), and integration.
• Proficiency with simulation and modeling tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, ANSYS, CATIA).
• Strong understanding of flight dynamics, propulsion systems, avionics, and control systems.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment in Rustenburg, North West, ZA.
• Eligibility to work in South Africa.
