Job summary

Guardrisk is a leading cell captive insurer in South Africa. We seek an Actuarial professional to support pricing, product development and capital structuring within the CRS and VUMA portfolios. You will work with data scientists, analysts and actuaries to deliver insights and innovative solutions.

The role emphasizes pricing frameworks, technical guidance and collaboration with internal teams to ensure profitability and compliant product offerings.

Qualifications

• Actuarial degree or mathematics/statistics major required.
• Fellowship progress or Associate Actuary status advantageous.
• 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Non-life pricing experience preferred.
• SQL, Python and R knowledge is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Take accountability for pricing, product development and capital structuring for CRS and VUMA portfolios.
• Lead rate reviews and re-pricing to ensure market competitiveness.
• Assess and approve new products for commercial viability and compliance.
• Review colleagues' work for accuracy and provide guidance to junior analysts.
• Collaborate with internal teams to structure deals with actuarial input.
• Investigate deviations and propose corrective measures.
