Job summary

Apex Group is seeking a Senior Accountant to support a key client within Corporate Services. You will oversee accurate management accounts across multiple entities and report to the Senior Manager, ensuring IFRS and local GAAP compliance.

This role offers international exposure, ownership of core accounting processes, and opportunities to improve controls while meeting strict deadlines. You will collaborate with the team to deliver timely, accurate financial reporting and data integrity.

Qualifications

• BCom Accounting Degree or similar.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in Finance/Accounting/Audit.
• Experience with group consolidations and IFRS areas such as IFRS 16 and share based payments desirable.
• Experience with Oracle (NetSuite) is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day accounting and financial reporting services to the group of client accounts.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts.
• Take ownership of key accounting processes which drive the group accounts.
• Become an entity owner, taking full responsibility for the accounting and reporting of certain entities in the group.
• Ensure data control is adhered to and all processes are followed with opportunities to improve current processes.
• Address client and team queries promptly.
• Become an expert user of the client accounting system.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure planning, coordination, and completion of client deliverables.
• Ensure reporting complies with entity and statutory requirements including local law, IFRS and other reporting principles.
• Ad-hoc client requests and project work.

Description

We are seeking a senior accountant to support a key client in the corporate services team. You will report to the Senior Manager, having responsibility for accurate management accounts preparation. You will be responsible for a number of entities in the group together with certain key processes. This is an excellent opportunity to gain international exposure to a client which has in excess of $40bn assets under management.

Skills Required

• BCom Accounting Degree (or similar).
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the field of Finance/Accounting/Audit.
• Experience with group consolidations and technical IFRS areas such as IFRS 16 and share based payments desirable.
• Management accounting in the asst management or private credit space will be a distinct advantage.
• Experience with Oracle (NetSuite) a distinct advantage.
• Good analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Ability to prioritize work and meet strict deadlines.
