Position : Senior Accountant (Client-Facing, Church Finance Focus)

Location : Remote (South Africa preferred)

Work Hours : Full-time, U.S. Eastern Time

Salary : 2500 - 3000 USD

Overview

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to support a growing accounting team that serves a portfolio of U.S.-based clients. This role is designed for an experienced professional with strong technical accounting skills, excellent client-facing communication, and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset. The ideal candidate thrives in a values-driven environment and is comfortable managing multiple client relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of 5–6 clients, handling full-cycle accounting (AP, AR, payroll, reconciliations, and reporting).
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP , particularly in nonprofit and fund accounting.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Develop and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and internal training resources.
  • Support client onboarding and data migration processes in accounting platforms.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to provide actionable financial insights.
  • Utilize accounting systems such as QuickBooks Online , Bill.com , Divi , and Gusto to optimize operations.
  • Maintain strong ethical and professional standards aligned with client expectations and culture.
Qualifications

Education : Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Experience : 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally with exposure to public accounting and nonprofit clients.

Technical Skills
  • Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks , Bill.com , Divi , and Gusto .
  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP and full-cycle accounting processes.
  • Strong Excel and reporting skills.
Soft Skills
  • Fluent in English with excellent communication and client service ability.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Team-oriented, dependable, and proactive.

Preferred : CPA designation or active pursuit of certification.

Compensation & Logistics

Location : Remote (preferably South Africa)

Schedule : Must have overlap with U.S. Eastern Time
