Job description

Key Responsibilities:

1. Technical Accounting & Compliance
2. Deep understanding and application of IFRS and IAS, especially IFRS 15 and IFRS 16.
3. Conduct detailed research on complex accounting issues and produce technical documentation.
4. Guide on accounting treatments and disclosures aligned with IFRS/IAS updates.

1. Treasury & Forex Management
2. Manage treasury operations, cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, and cash utilization.
3. Oversee Forex transactions and related accounting.
4. Manage credit card expenses and variance analysis.

1. General Ledger & Financial Control
2. Maintain General Ledger integrity, including journal entries and data accuracy.
3. Manage month-end and year-end closing processes for timely reporting.

1. Reconciliations
2. Perform and review bank reconciliations and petty cash management.

1. Fixed Assets Management
2. Maintain Fixed Asset Register, ensuring IFRS and tax compliance.
3. Oversee asset capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and impairments.

1. Cashbook Oversight
2. Manage the FACS cashbook system and liaise with Hyphen for efficient processes.

1. Budgeting
2. Assist in annual budgeting, forecasts, and long-term planning.
3. Support scenario analysis and strategic decisions.

1. Financial Reporting & Audits
2. Assist in preparing and reviewing IFRS-compliant financial statements.
3. Coordinate audit responses.

1. Taxation Management
2. Prepare tax documentation and ensure compliance with tax obligations.

1. Financial Analysis & Variance Reporting
2. Conduct monthly income statement reviews.
3. Provide management with analysis and insights.

Minimum requirements

1. Professional Qualification: BCom Accounting Honours or SAICA articles.
2. Experience: At least 3 years in progressive accounting roles, with 2+ years in senior or supervisory capacity.
3. Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting, taxation, and treasury.
