Introduction

Are you a detail-driven finance professional with strong freight and logistics industry experience?

We're seeking a dynamic Accountant / Senior Accountant to join a leading organisation in the logistics sector.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical background, excellent SAP skills, and experience in tax, VAT, and statutory compliance.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Month-end processes including journals, reconciliations, and reporting to international stakeholders
• Manage statutory compliance (VAT, PAYE, UIF, SDL, SARB, POPIA, etc.)
• Support internal and external audits (Financial, VAT, Process)
• Oversee bank functions, EFTs, petty cash, reconciliations and authorisations
• Manage fixed assets: depreciation, disposals, capex approvals
• Analyse and review monthly cost allocations with BU Managers
• Contribute to continuous process improvement and financial controls
• Engage in high-level reporting and forecasting activities

Desired Experience & Qualification

• 5+ years relevant working experience
• Freight and logistics industry experience
• Strong SAP system experience
• Full VAT and Tax compliance experience
• SAIPA or SAICA articles completed
• Minimum BCom Accounting degree (Honours advantageous)
• Excellent knowledge of IFRS and local tax legislation
