SEMH Maths Teacher – Full‑time, long‑term position with an opportunity to become permanent, starting as soon as possible

We are seeking a committed SEMH Maths Teacher to join a nurturing and inclusive school environment. Duties as SEMH Maths Teacher:
  • Deliver engaging and differentiated Maths lessons to a small class of 8 pupils with SEMH needs
  • Work closely with a dedicated teaching assistant to support individual learning plans
  • Foster a safe, supportive, and structured classroom environment
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies as needed
  • Collaborate with SENCOs, therapists, and other professionals to support pupil development
  • Contribute to the wider school community and attend relevant meetings and training
Ideal SEMH Maths Teacher:
  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching Maths, ideally within an SEMH or SEN setting
  • Strong understanding of social, emotional, and mental health needs
  • Skilled in managing challenging behaviour with empathy and consistency
  • Able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
