Job summary

Lesaka Technologies Inc. in Johannesburg seeks a Head of Security to lead the security posture of the Merchant Division.

You will set strategy, run security operations, govern access, and ensure technical controls meet regulatory obligations, while partnering with engineering and the AI governance function. You will manage a four-person security team, collaborate with Infrastructure and DevOps, and drive security governance across PCI DSS and SOX ITGC controls, IAM, and AI tool risk.

Qualifications

• Ten+ years in information security with leadership experience.
• Proven ability to run 24x7 security operations in a regulated payments or financial services environment.
• Strong PCI DSS and SOX ITGC background.
• Experience establishing IAM governance frameworks with infrastructure and operations.
• Fintech, payments security exposure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the security strategy for the Merchant Division and broader IT group.
• Run 24x7 security operations and incident response.
• Lead vulnerability management and third-party penetration testing programs.
• Ensure PCI DSS and SOX compliance through audits and controls.
• Collaborate with CIO and executives to align security with business goals.
