Placements24 in Randburg is seeking a detail-oriented Security System Installation Technician to join our expanding security solutions team. The role covers installation, configuration, and maintenance of CCTV, alarm, access control and intercom systems at client sites.

You will assess security needs, design layouts, run low-voltage cabling, test systems, and provide client training and documentation during and after installations.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Security System Installer or technician.
• Familiarity with major brands and types of security system equipment (CCTV, alarms, access control).
• Knowledge of low-voltage wiring, networking basics, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and installation diagrams.
• Strong customer service skills and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Security System Installation Technician to join their expanding security solutions team in Randburg . This role involves the installation, configuration, and maintenance of various security systems, including CCTV, alarm systems, access control, and intercoms. You will work directly with clients to assess their security needs, design appropriate system layouts, and ensure flawless implementation. This is a field-based position for an individual with strong technical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to providing reliable security installations that protect client assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, program, and test a variety of security systems, including CCTV cameras, alarm panels, intrusion detectors, and access control hardware.
• Run and terminate low-voltage cabling for security system components.
• Troubleshoot and repair existing security systems, diagnosing faults and implementing effective solutions.
• Conduct site surveys to assess client security requirements and recommend appropriate system configurations.
• Provide client training on the operation and basic maintenance of installed security systems.
• Maintain detailed records of installations, service calls, and system configurations.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Security System Installer or technician.
• Familiarity with major brands and types of security system equipment (CCTV, alarms, access control).
• Knowledge of low-voltage wiring , networking basics, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and installation diagrams.
• Strong customer service skills and the ability to work independently.
• A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required for travel to client sites in and around Randburg .
