The appointed Security Officer will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment at the Durban Labour Centre and Provincial Office.
Key duties will include controlling access to and from the Labour Centre and Provincial Office. This includes monitoring people entering and leaving the premises and ensuring that access control procedures are properly implemented.
The Security Officer will also be responsible for securing the flow of information and assets within the Labour Centre and Provincial Office. This requires attention to security procedures and the protection of departmental property and information.
Another important responsibility will be to conduct security patrols throughout the building and offices. Regular patrols will help identify potential security risks and ensure the safety of employees, clients and visitors.
The position will also involve conducting internal investigations when required and enforcing security rules and regulations. The successful candidate must therefore be able to identify security-related problems, follow established procedures and take appropriate action within the scope of the position.
