Job description
Minimum Requirements
  • Immediately available to work on contract (ie not currently working)
  • Qualification in Security Management, Criminology, Risk Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Proven experience in security management (corporate, industrial, or government)
  • Strong knowledge of physical and information security best practices
  • Excellent investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence across departments
  • Familiarity with relevant compliance standards and regulations
Key Responsibilities
  • Security Strategy & Policies: Develop, implement, and enforce internal security policies and procedures; conduct regular risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and propose mitigation strategies
  • Physical Security: Oversee access control, CCTV systems, alarms, and perimeter security; ensure proper visitor management and employee ID/access badge protocols
  • Information & Data Security (in collaboration with IT): Support data protection initiatives and compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, POPIA); monitor for security breaches or suspicious activities
  • Incident Response & Investigations: Lead investigations of security incidents, breaches, or thefts; report and document incidents with corrective action plans
  • Compliance & Training: Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and industry best practices; conduct employee training and awareness programs on security practices
  • Liaison & Coordination: Coordinate with law enforcement, regulators, and external security providers when required; collaborate with HR, IT, and Facilities on integrated security measures
