Job Description

Primary duties

  • Guest interaction: Greet customers, present menus, and answer questions about menu items and specials.
  • Order taking: Accurately take food and beverage orders, often using a Point of Sale (POS) system, and communicate them to the kitchen staff.
  • Serving: Deliver prepared food and drinks to tables promptly and efficiently.
  • Customer service: Check on guests throughout their meal to ensure satisfaction, and address any complaints or concerns.
  • Table maintenance: Clear tables, reset them for new customers, and maintain a clean and organized dining area.
  • Payment processing: Prepare bills and handle cash or credit card transactions accurately.
  • Making menu recommendations to upsell items like appetizers or desserts.
  • Collaborating with other staff, including kitchen and bar staff, to ensure smooth service.
  • Following health and safety regulations for food handling and cleanliness.
  • Assisting with opening and closing duties, such as rolling silverware or stocking service stations.

Job Type: Temp to perm

Pay: From R40,00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 48 per week

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Stellenbosch, Western Cape (Stellenbosch): Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

Experience:

  • waitering: 3 years (Preferred)
