Job description

My client based in Bellville (Northern Suburbs) is currently looking for a Scrum Master to join them on a permanent basis.

IT / Finance

Responsibilities

1. Guide the Product Owners by practicing relevant agile techniques (e.g., journey maps) and facilitate in carving out MBI/MVP for larger epics.
2. Support PI Planning by facilitating team breakouts and help identify backlogs and dependencies.
3. Guide the PO in elaboration to capture key requirement details within the client's ecosystem.
4. Facilitate backlog refinement to slice features into user stories at least once per iteration.
5. Create and manage iterations in alignment with the published schedule.
6. Ensure daily stand-ups are practiced for team alignment on daily deliverables.
7. Review the value delivered the previous day.
8. Facilitate iteration planning to plan upcoming iterations and address impediments.
9. Keep iteration boards updated to reflect current status.
10. Encourage the team to achieve a healthy burndown of user stories or features.
11. Represent squads in sync meetings, ensuring alignment and addressing dependencies.
12. Work closely with support teams to ensure smooth functioning of squads.
13. Facilitate iteration demos and system demos for effective presentation of deliverables.
14. Conduct retrospectives every iteration to promote continuous improvement.

Experience

• Shown on internal and external posting.
• Relevant IT Qualification (IT Degree or Diploma) is advantageous.
• Scrum Master certification is advantageous.
• 5+ years Scrum Master experience in a fully agile and DevOps environment.
• Experience with dashboards, KPI/metrics, and burndown charts.
