Join Our Team Build a Career in the Scrap Metal Industry

M&M Recycling, a leading scrap metal recycling company, is seeking a hardworking, reliable, and safety-conscious Equipment Operator to join our team.

This operator will be responsible for operating our Scrap Metal Baler, a Harris Centurion Baler, to process and prepare scrap metal for sale.

No prior baler experience is necessary; we'll train the right candidate!

Hours are 8‑5 pm M‑F and 8‑12 SAT (subject to change).

Key Responsibilities :

• Safely operate baling equipment to process clean, sorted metal scrap (training provided on Harris Centurion).
• Sort, clean, and separate different types of scrap metals prior to baling.
• Assist truck drivers by guiding them to proper unloading locations.
• Strap and weigh bales for inventory and shipping purposes.
• Perform daily pre‑trip inspections and routine maintenance checks on the baler.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area around the machine and baling zone.
• Support the team by performing general labor tasks such as cleaning, preparing material, and assisting with yard operations.
• Cross‑train on other equipment and responsibilities to support overall yard efficiency.

Qualifications :

• Previous experience in a scrap yard, recycling facility, or operating heavy equipment is a plus, but not required.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure only clean, market‑ready bales are produced.
• Team‑oriented with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Ability to lift, push, or pull heavy objects and perform physical labor throughout the shift.
