As a Scientist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Technologist in Cytogenetics at Ampath, you ensure the delivery of high-quality diagnostic services through the genetic analysis and verification.
You work across all laboratory benches, uphold quality standards, and provide expert training in chromosome analysis and staff competency.

To be considered for a role in Cytogenetics at Ampath, you must hold either a BSc Honours degree with HPCSA registration as a Medical Scientist in Genetics / Human Genetics or Molecular Biology, a Bachelor's degree of Health Science with HPCSA registration as a MLS in Cytogenetics or a National Diploma in Biomedical Technology with HPCSA registration as a Medical Technologist in Cytogenetics.
You bring two years of experience working in a Cytogenetics laboratory environment, where you have honed your technical capabilities and developed a deep understanding of diagnostic workflows.
You are fluent in English, both written and spoken, and are confident using computer technology to support laboratory operations.
Your numerical reasoning skills enable you to perform calculations with precision, supporting the integrity of diagnostic results.
These skills, combined with your scientific expertise, make you a valuable contributor to a collaborative and forward-thinking team.
You are instrumental in processing and analysing specimens, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of results that support patient care.
You contribute to the development and refinement of new assays, driving innovation and scientific advancement.
Your commitment to quality and accreditation safeguards the integrity of our laboratory standards.
You play a key role in managing materials and stock, ensuring operational efficiency.
