The Principal is accountable for managing the overall operations and performance of the school.
This includes strategic planning, academic quality assurance, financial management, and maintaining strong relationships with students, parents, and staff.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the efficient daily operation of the school and ensure financial control and resource optimisation.
- Implement strategic and academic plans that align with the organisation's goals.
- Drive academic excellence by ensuring curriculum alignment, effective teaching, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor student performance, retention, and enrolment targets, implementing action plans for improvement.
- Lead and develop academic and support staff through mentorship, performance management, and professional development.
- Foster strong communication and relationships with parents, staff, and students.
- Ensure full compliance with educational policies, procedures, and legislation.
- Oversee health and safety management and ensure a safe learning environment for all stakeholders.
Education Profile
- Bachelors Degree in Education or equivalent qualification (NQF 7).
- Postgraduate qualification (NQF 8) in Management, Policy Development, or Curriculum Development advantageous.
- Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) or B.Ed.
- degree required.
- SACE registration essential.
- Minimum of 8 years teaching experience, with at least 5 years in a senior management position within a high school or college environment.
- Proven leadership and organisational skills with the ability to manage a diverse team.
- Strong communication, relationship management, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent planning, time management, and attention to detail.
- Proficient in MS Office and educational management systems.
