Job summary

Efficiency Staffing Solutions in Johannesburg is seeking a diligent Scaffold Labourer to assist with erection, alteration and dismantling of scaffolding. You will load and move materials, prepare components and maintain housekeeping.

Requirements include matric, 1–2 years scaffolding experience, basic literacy, physical fitness, teamwork and willingness to learn. Valid working at heights certification and a clean criminal record are highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Assist scaffolders with erection, alteration and dismantling of scaffolding.

• Assist with positioning, stacking and storage of materials.
• Maintain good housekeeping in the work area.
• Assist with tools, equipment and material handling.
• Report damaged or defective equipment and unsafe conditions immediately.
• Follow instructions from the Charge Hand, Supervisor or Foreman.
• Wear and correctly use all required PPE.
• Attend toolbox talks, safety meetings and training.
• Comply with company policies, site rules and Occupational Health and Safety requirements.
• Perform other reasonable duties as instructed by management.

Experience & Qualification

Minimum Requirements

• National Senior Certificate (matric) or equivalent
• Minimum 1 - 2 years' experience in scaffolding industry
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
• Previous construction, scaffolding, mining or general labour experience will be an advantage.
• Physically fit and able to perform manual work.
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions.
• Safety-conscious, reliable and punctual.
• Willingness to learn and develop scaffolding skills.
• Working at Heights or scaffolding training will be an advantage.
• Valid working at heights certification
• Clear criminal record

Safety Requirement

The successful candidate must follow all safety procedures, wear the required PPE and must not work at height or on scaffolding unless properly trained, authorised and supervised.
