Requirements
- The applicant must display competency in the post‑specific core functions of the post.
- Be fluent in at least two of the official languages, of which one must be English.
- Be a South African Citizen.
- Must have no previous criminal / departmental convictions or criminal / departmental cases pending.
- Relevant courses in the field of the post will serve as an advantage.
- Be willing to work shifts and extended hours.
- Additionally, a Grade 10 qualification will serve as an advantage.
Basic Literacy, Numeracy and Communication Skills
Be able to read and write. The ability to operate elementary machines and equipment. Willing to work extended hours, when necessary. Relevant courses in the field of the post as well as a valid driver’s licence for at least a light motor vehicle will serve as an advantage.
Core Functions (Responsibilities)
- Maintaining a high level of hygiene in and around the workplace where routine tasks are performed, which may include either inner or outer parameters.
- Performing routine tasks such as dusting, polishing furniture and floors, removing refuse bags, mopping all tiled flooring, vacuuming carpets; cleaning bathrooms and kitchens; safekeeping and handling of a variety of cleaning materials.
- Loading and unloading of goods; garden maintenance services; washing and cleaning of state vehicles, kitchenware and utensils.

- It is the applicant’s responsibility to have foreign qualifications evaluated by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).
- Qualifications and driver’s licences submitted will be verified with the relevant institutions.
- The South African Police Service will verify the residential address of applicants and conduct reference checks on all short‑listed candidates.
- All short‑listed candidates will be subjected to fingerprint screening.
- A candidate whose particulars appear in either the National Register for Sex Offenders or Part B of the Child Protection Register will be disqualified from appointment to that post.
- A candidate who is a respondent in an interim or final protection order in terms of the Domestic Violence Act may be disqualified from appointment to that post.
- Persons with previous convictions are excluded.
- If a candidate is short‑listed, it can be expected of him/her to undergo a personal interview and be subjected to security clearance.
- Appointments will be made in terms of the Public Service Act, as applicable to the post environment.
- Correspondence will be conducted with successful candidates only.
