A leading professional services firm in South Africa is seeking a Learning and Development Manager to oversee logistical elements of their learning programmes and collaborate with stakeholders to address L&D needs. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role, strong project management skills, and the ability to build effective working relationships. This opportunity requires flexibility with hybrid working and occasional travel.

Aiming to provide our learners with the best possible learning experience, this role is responsible for ensuring that our learning programmes are delivered effectively, from strategy through to implementation and evaluation.
Key responsibilities include managing all logistical elements of our programmes, including but not limited to : planning, scheduling and managing our programmes; sourcing suppliers and venues; building curriculums onto our learner management system; managing supplier relationships; and evaluating and reporting on our programmes.
You will work with the SATIC L&D team and business unit leaders, to actively drive delivery of L&D programmes.
You will have responsibility for implementing training and be accountable for the overall event management of L&D programmes, working in partnership with Course Managers and other key stakeholders across L&D and the business.
5 years experience in L&D or similar role
You will partner with managers and senior business leaders to understand learning and development needs and deliver solutions that align with our business objectives.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify the specific L&D needs and skills gaps, as well as the most appropriate way to respond to their needs.
Engage with various vendors and Alliance Partners to obtain training tokens and other free training certificates and initiatives.
Create and continuously update the curriculum for the respective teams and ensure that it is updated
Aligned to business objectives and global requirements
Adherence is tracked and reported on
Prepare training plans for the respective delivery areas and manage the execution thereof.
When new courses are needed, source vendors, facilitators and materials.
Provide expert advice on logistics, and effective use and presentation of learning on our learning management system (LMS)
Identify and source suitable training locations, as well as ongoing monitoring (such as quality, external spend and value for money)
Source suitable tutors / facilitators / key speakers where applicable
Ensure joining instructions (or other communications) are written accurately
Operate as primary link into our L&D support centre to drive execution of administrative tasks and respond to queries
Leverage our global network of L&D expertise to recommend learning solutions, frameworks and opportunities that ensure optimum results in a fast paced environment to provide excellence in L&D projects.
Work with the broader L&D team to define measurement strategies that link the L&D programmes to tangible benefits and return on investment, improving the impact of reporting on training in SATIC.
Maintain accurate records of programme participation (including for internal and external audit purposes)
Design and draw reports on completed training and interpret the data in a useful, simple format to be understood by business.
Prepare data analysis and insights from the reporting.
Draw reports on Compliance training completion as according to the Business School policy and procedures.
Work comfortably as part of a team and develop / maintain effective business and peer relationships
Support the bursary programmes and associated graduate programme administration including contract generation and tracking and programme meeting management
Drive Learning technology in the business unit where applicable.
Stay current on industry trends and best practices related to Learning and Development.
Have a working knowledge of learning methodologies.
Ability to run effective meetings with stakeholders from all levels – structure and facilitate meetings, interviewing skills.
Excellent project management, time & organisational skills
Very good numerical and analytical skills with an intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Goal orientated – maintaining focus on agreed objectives and deliverables
Commercially orientated – keeping commercial aspects continually in mind when taking actions or making decisions
Proven ability to self-motivate and work independently as well as a track record of working professionally and collaboratively as part of a wider-team
Ability to manage and prioritise projects and work to deadlines

Experience in designing and drawing training reports and ability to interpret the data in a useful way
Ability to build and maintain good relationships
Ability to communicate confidently and effectively, both in written and verbal form
Effectively use online collaboration tools (e.g. intranet, online meetings and Teams)
Positive, can do attitude, particularly when dealing with ambiguity.
Work flexibly and collaboratively with your immediate and wider L&D team
Have a flexible approach to hybrid working with some UK travel and overnight stays required (with advanced notice)
