As a Junior Financial Accountant, you will play a critical role in supporting operational efficiency, highlighting areas of cost improvement initiatives, and enabling client delivery through robust financial reporting, insight generation, and improved process design.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for tasks, processes or entities in the area of Financial Reporting which includes solving problems and response to ad hoc queries for assigned areas.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external client-facing teams to provide financial insight for operational restructuring and transformation programmes.
- Assist in the setup and maintenance of dashboards and reporting mechanisms.
- Support change initiatives with financial insights, helping to shape cost optimisation and workforce planning programmes.
- Work collaboratively to drive ideas / solutions with peers and managers which will improve Client and PwC's efficiency.
- Developing close relationships with key stakeholders.
- Managing own workload, including reporting on progress and issues.
- Develop the ability to be agile and support a range of client / projects.
- Be able to implement and adapt to new or changing processes quickly.
- Proactively build relationships with all team members within PwC including engagement with client teams as well as customers of our clients.
Requirements to be met
- 1 - 2 years experience in a similar role.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred.
- Desirable: Certification or formal training in financial modelling, data analytics, or business intelligence tools.
- Experience with basic financial reporting and cost tracking.
- Exposure to working across teams or supporting process improvement is beneficial but not essential.
Skills required
- Strong data analytics capability – ability to interpret large volumes of financial data to generate meaningful insights.
- Familiarity with business intelligence tools such as PowerBI and Alteryx for dashboarding, automation, and reporting.
- Understanding of cost transformation levers such as procurement optimisation and workforce efficiency.
- Organised, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a high-paced and ambiguous environment.
