Aiming to provide our bursars with the best possible experience, this role is responsible for ensuring that our bursary programmes are delivered effectively. Key responsibilities include managing all logistical elements of our bursary and academy programmes, including but not limited to: planning, scheduling and coordinating our programmes; maintaining supplier relationships; and evaluating and reporting on our programmes.

As an integral part of our People and Transformation team, the Bursary Administration Officer will be vital in administering bursary programmes, B-BBEE compliance, and WSP and ATR submissions. This role supports SATIC’s focus on transformation by ensuring our bursary initiatives meet regulatory requirements and yield high-impact outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
Bursary Administration
  • Oversee end-to-end bursary programme administration, ensuring alignment with SATIC’s talent acquisition and transformation strategy.
  • Leverage technology platforms to streamline bursary application and monitoring processes.
  • Coordinate and schedule candidate interviews, maintaining the relevant candidate database(s).
  • Prepare and issue bursary contracts to bursary recipients.
  • Collect signed contracts and track return status.
  • Assist in onboarding new bursary recipients.
  • Serve as first point of contact for students.
  • Handle routine communication and inquiries.
Performance monitoring
  • Track bursary recipient progress and attendance.
  • Collect and compile progress reports from students.
  • Report identified risks and issues to management.
  • Ensure data privacy and confidentiality compliance.
  • Track bursary impact through data analysis and reporting aligned with SATIC objectives.
Graduate Programmes / Academies Support
  • Administer onboarding processes for SATIC Academies.
  • Track individual graduate development and update performance records.
  • Prepare data for B-BBEE reporting and audit requirements.
  • Process invoices and reimbursements related to Academy training.
B-BBEE Administration
  • Maintain up-to-date records for audits and compliance checks.
  • Monitor document completeness and assist in compliance reporting.
  • Provide ongoing support to the SATIC EE committee on B-BBEE scorecard components and transformation initiatives.
  • Maintain proactive relationships with B-BBEE verification agencies and internal audit teams to ensure compliance readiness.
  • Work with the Learning & Development Lead on the compilation, submission, and management of WSP and ATR aligned with the SETA framework and SATIC’s Learning & Development strategy.
  • Ensure adherence to quality management and audit standards in all reporting activities.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Qualification in Human Resources, Education, Business Administration, or related field.
