AVI Limited is seeking an SAP HCM ABAP Technical Consultant to join our Systems team in Bryanston or Cape Town. This hands-on role focuses on developing, enhancing and supporting SAP HR/HCM workflows and ABAP programs across RICEFW components.

• 5+ years' experience in SAP HCM ABAP development (including Portal and Workflow).
• At least 3 full life cycle implementations.
• Lead programming on at least 1 full life cycle implementation will be highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain ABAP programs and workflows within the SAP HCM environment.
• Collaborate with functional consultants to translate business requirements into elegant technical solutions.
• Optimise, troubleshoot, and enhance SAP HR systems and related interfaces.
• Deliver quality code within project timelines, maintaining strong documentation standards.
• Participate in SAP upgrades, including SPDDs and SPAUs.
• Promote best practice and knowledge sharing across systems streams.

We are looking for an SAP HCM ABAP Technical Consultant to join our skilled Systems team in either Bryanston or Cape Town. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on solving complex problems, enjoys collaboration across diverse business units, and takes pride in delivering clean, efficient code that drives real business impact.

You'll play a key role in the development, enhancement, and support of SAP HR/HCM systems and workflows. Partnering with our HCM Functional Consultants, you'll design and implement robust ABAP solutions across RICEFW components: Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, and Workflows ensuring systems perform optimally across the business.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role for someone who enjoys seeing their code make a difference to real users, every day.

Reporting Structure:

• Reports to: SAP HCM Support Manager

Key Areas of Impact:

• Develop, test, and maintain ABAP programs and workflows within the SAP HCM environment
• Collaborate with functional consultants to translate business requirements into elegant technical solutions
• Optimise, troubleshoot, and enhance SAP HR systems and related interfaces
• Deliver quality code within project timelines, maintaining strong documentation standards
• Participate in SAP upgrades, including SPDDs and SPAUs
• Promote best practice and knowledge sharing across systems streams

What It Takes to Succeed:

Experience that set you up for success:

• 5+ years' experience in SAP HCM ABAP development (including Portal and Workflow)
• At least 3 full life cycle implementations
• Lead programming on at least 1 full life cycle implementation will be highly advantageous
• Proficiency across:
• Reporting (conventional and interactive),
• BDC and Call-Transaction
• Interfaces including ALE, IDOC, and BAPI
• SAPScript and Smart-Forms
• Object Oriented ABAP
• Business Add-Ins.

Qualifications & Certifications that will contribute to your success:

• Tertiary qualification in IT or Computer Science
• SAP ABAP Certification
