Role Overview
The purpose of this role is to provide clients with professional financial advice, planning and products that meet their needs. The role focuses on building and maintaining long‑term client relationships, generating sustainable business, and achieving sales and advisory targets in a compliant manner.
Responsibilities
- Network, prospect, and generate leads.
- Conduct face‑to‑face and social interactions to create business opportunities.
- Prospect new clients through business networks, associations, and presentations.
- Convert trusted relationships into business relationships.
- Strengthen existing relationships by increasing current services.
- Use existing sources to identify opportunities across Sanlam businesses.
- Create personalized client value propositions.
- Market on social media.
- Analyze existing client base to identify marketing gaps and sales opportunities for middle‑high and affluent markets.
- Structure and implement focused campaigns with new or existing clients within the defined market.
- Request active leads and referrals.
- Monitor and respond to client needs, renewal discussions, unpaid premiums, and cancellations.
- Ensure all interactions are compliant with disclosures and advice requirements.
- Undertake comprehensive fact‑finding and document findings.
- Conduct financial needs analysis to determine short‑term insurance needs.
- Present short‑term insurance solutions professionally.
- Use systems to capture analysis and update records.
- Review client portfolio annually with a full Record of Advice.
- Ensure all client interactions are ethical, courteous, and professional.
- Manage client claims from registration to settlement.
- Provide value‑added service to retain clients.
- Engage in continuous learning to keep skills up to date.
- Initiate and maintain long‑term client relationships.
- Document and report weekly/monthly activities: contacts, appointments, consultations, business issued, revenue, client record updates.
Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12.
- Completion of Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act (FAIS) "Fit and Proper" requirements and Regulatory Examination, registered with FSCA for more than 24 months.
