What will you do?

The role involves providing professional and relevant financial advice, planning, and products to new and existing clients, tailored to their needs. You will aim to procure sustainable, high-quality business aligned with set targets, maintain long-term client relationships, and promote the Sanlam brand ethically and compliantly to support business growth.

What will make you successful in this role?

1. Assist in growing the Sanlam Adviser Business

  • Contribute to marketing plans and targets as per the distribution strategy.
  • Use knowledge of market segmentation and customer profiles to support sales and growth.

Focus on activities related to:

  • Revenue generation (single and recurring premiums)
  • Achieving activity quotas
  • Promoting the Sanlam brand
  • Applying fair treatment of customers in all engagements
  • Aligning role with personal career goals

2. Networking, prospecting, and lead generation

  • Engage in face-to-face interactions to create business opportunities.
  • Prospect through social and business networks, associations, or presentations.
  • Build trust-based business relationships and enhance existing ones.
  • Leverage existing sources and social media marketing to generate leads.
  • Identify marketing gaps and sales opportunities within the middle-high and affluent markets.
  • Implement targeted campaigns and solicit referrals.

3. Client consultations and sales

  • Ensure compliance in all client interactions, including disclosures and advice.
  • Conduct comprehensive fact-finding and document client needs and priorities.
  • Perform financial needs analysis using appropriate tools or systems.
  • Provide sound financial planning advice and present solutions professionally.
  • Review client portfolios annually and update records accordingly.

4. Client Service

  • Maintain ethical, courteous, and professional interactions.
  • Follow up on or refer queries promptly.
  • Strive for excellent service to retain clients and prevent attrition.
  • Engage in continuous learning to improve service delivery.
  • Build and sustain long-term client relationships.

5. Monitoring, updating, and reporting

  • Track and report activities like contacts, appointments, and consultations.
  • Monitor business issued and revenue against targets.
  • Keep client details current and maintain workflow entries.

Qualifications and Experience

Grade 12, with Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act (FAIS) 'Fit and Proper' requirements and Regulatory Examination completed, especially if registered with FSCA for over 24 months.

Knowledge and Skills

Financial advice, support, compliance, client relationship management, financial planning, and recommendations.
