Sales Trader – RMB – Rand Merchant Bank

As a Sales Trader, you'll act as the bridge between our clients and the market — providing top-tier execution, market intelligence, and relationship management.

You’ll manage client orders, identify trading opportunities, and ensure smooth, compliant execution across all market conditions.

Are you someone who can :

Execute and support client orders across equities, FX and derivatives with accuracy, timeliness, and attention to market impact.

Assist senior sales traders in managing daily order flow, trade bookings, and post-trade processes, ensuring smooth execution and minimal errors.

Monitor markets and client tickets throughout the trading day, providing updates on price movements, liquidity, and relevant macroeconomic or sector developments.

Generate and distribute market commentary and trade ideas in collaboration with the research and RMBMS teams, helping clients stay informed about short-term opportunities and longer-term trends.

Support client relationship management by responding promptly to trade-related queries, providing pricing information, and ensuring a high level of client satisfaction.

Contribute to new business initiatives by identifying potential clients and supporting onboarding processes.

Collaborate closely with internal teams — including Research, Sales, Trading, risk, compliance, and operations.

Participate in team discussions and morning market calls, actively developing product knowledge and trading acumen.

Stay up to date on global financial markets, macroeconomic events, and industry developments to strengthen analytical skills and client communication.

Support the sales-trading desk during peak trading hours, helping ensure high service levels and efficient workflow management.

Be a team player and always do the right thing.

You will be an ideal candidate if :

Hold a bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field (master's or CFA is a plus).

Have 1–5+ years’ experience in a sales-trading, execution, or dealing-desk role.

Have a strong understanding of financial markets, trading platforms, and order flow.

Possess proven communication, negotiation, and client-management skills.

Proficient in Bloomberg & Reuters.
